In the Artist Development module on MA Music Business Management at Westminster we discuss the concept of Retromania however this is different and is very eloquently described and illustrated. Japan gets sampled like free stock in the global lofi nostalgia wave, and after 30-plus years of social and economic stagnation, this whole “anemoia” thing is basically everyday life here. “Nostalgia isn’t about memory but meaning” really hit us. “In a world drained of meaning, we use the past to shape the present.” That line stayed with us. Big respect from us, reporting live from earthquake-and-suicide Japan 😇
